PRESS RELEASE: DWD Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Offices Temporarily Closed to Public - SERVICES CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE REMOTELY (March 19, 2020)

Information for DVR Consumers

On March 19, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) issued a press release announcing that, effective immediately, DVR offices statewide are temporarily closed to the public in response to COVID-19. While in-person services are suspended until further notice, DVR staff will continue to provide services by phone and email during business hours. Information on DVR office locations and the phone numbers to reach staff from each office can be found on DVR's Office Locations page.

Current DVR consumers are encouraged to contact their assigned DVR staff person directly by phone or email, or they can call their local DVR office main phone line with any questions or concerns. Members of the public seeking disability employment resources or information about DVR services may visit the DVR website or contact the DVR Administrative Office at 800-442-3477.

If you have an appointment scheduled with DVR or a DVR service provider, please notify your DVR contact or your service provider to reschedule your appointment or conduct it via phone if possible.

We hope that you will take the time to learn more about COVID-19, how to protect yourself from infectious diseases, and how to prepare yourself. If you would like more information about the COVID-19 pandemic, visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) or the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) COVID-19 sites for the most up-to-date information.

We also encourage you to review the recent U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission bulletin on steps employers should take related to provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Rehabilitation Act in response to COVID-19.
