MIDDLETON - Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-designee Caleb Frostman today visited STATZ Corporation in Middleton to recognize its robust partnership with DWD's Office of Veteran Employment Services (OVES) that has led to the hiring of multiple veterans. Over half of STATZ employees are veterans, currently serving in the military, or the spouse of an active service member.
"The STATZ Corporation recognizes that military veterans and service members are hardworking, dedicated, and loyal," Frostman said. "In many cases, all a veteran job seeker needs is an opportunity. With that opportunity, they regularly excel and advance professionally. I commend STATZ Corporation for their commitment to veteran employees and job seekers and look forward to more connections through our OVES partnership."
STATZ Corporation is a "Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business," with a focus on delivering supply chain support to government, military, and commercial entities. Founded in 2004 by Bill Statz, it has since grown to be seventh largest small business government contractor in Wisconsin in 2018, with prime contracts valued at $40 million.
Today's visit also highlights the recent partnership with the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, and the Department of Veteran Affairs on the Vets Ready Employer Initiative. The initiative will highlight those companies that provide additional support, resources, and outreach as part of their organizational mission. Employer applicants will be rated on various criteria including the support system within their workplace for veterans, their hiring and retention of veteran employees, and connections to veterans and veteran organizations in their community. The employer recognition initiative will begin accepting applications in January 2020.
