MADISON- Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-designee Caleb Frostman today unveiled Wisconsin's new Mobile Career Lab outside of the Dane County Job Center in Madison. The Mobile Career Lab will deliver services that are typically accessed at a brick-and-mortar job center to individuals throughout the state, inside their respective communities. The Mobile Career Lab will also bring much needed workforce services and resources to Wisconsin's houses of correction to help prepare inmates who anticipate release.
"The Mobile Career Lab will help with Governor's Evers' mission of 'Connecting the Dots' by bringing job seekers and employers together," Secretary-designee Frostman said. "Everyone deserves a family-supporting career and with the Mobile Career Lab, we are helping people connect with the workforce services they need to find a job that will help them succeed in a new way."
The Mobile Career Lab will also assist with employer hiring events, job fairs, and other recruitment events that occur outside of the typical job center setting. The Lab is equipped with 10 computers, table seating for four, and three display screens. The Career Lab will be used to host workshops to assist job seekers with résumés, interview techniques, career exploration, job applications, and other work search skills.
"DWD strives to provide our customers with the best service and the Mobile Career Lab will allow us to meet job seekers and employers wherever they are to provide them the best support and resources that we can," Frostman said. "We look forward to the opportunity to connect with more individuals throughout Wisconsin."
