Public Comment Period Open on Worker's Compensation Reform

Deadline to submit written comments will be December 3; a public hearing is set for Nov. 12 at seven sites statewide

MADISON – Today, the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) encouraged the public to submit comments about the state's Worker's Compensation (WC) program to the Worker's Compensation Advisory Council (WCAC). The Council is taking public comments on suggested reforms to the state's WC laws through December 3, 2018. The comments will help form the Council's legislative agenda during the following year.

The Council will also take public comments at a public hearing on November 12, 2018. The hearing will be administered in Madison and broadcast live through web video at six locations throughout the state. Hearing attendees will be able to share reform ideas with the WCAC in real time from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at any of the seven locations:

The WCAC was created to advise the Department and the Wisconsin State Legislature on policy matters concerning the development and administration of the WC law. The WCAC provides a vehicle for public proposals to play a direct role in recommending changes to WC law in Wisconsin.
