Milwaukee Career Expo & Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair Is One Week Away

MADISON – Job seekers and other interested members of the public are encouraged to attend the 2018 Milwaukee Career Expo on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at State Fair Park. The event not only will feature more than 150 employers with open jobs to fill, but this year's event will also feature Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair partners who will provide information about community resources and skills requirements to launch a career in the state's booming construction industry.

"Hundreds of job seekers and members of the public have already received their free ticket to attend the Milwaukee area's premier recruitment event, and this year we are inviting anyone who wants to learn about construction careers to meet with one of the Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair partners who will be on site," Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen said. "Dozens of resource providers will be on the site for the expo and construction resource fair. Between the resources and the 150-plus employers, this year's event promises to be one of our most successful expos ever."

Briggs & Stratton, FedEx Ground, Froedtert Health, Go Riteway Transportation Group, Kohl's Corporation, Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Michels Corporation, Spectrum Communications and Wolf Paving are among the businesses already registered for the expo.

In addition, more than three dozen vendors from trade associations, non-profit organizations, education institutions, and state and local government agencies will offer a variety of supportive services. Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair partners will include the Roofers & Waterproofers Local 65, Steamfitters Local 601, David J. Frank Landscape Contracting, Inc. and many more partners.

To date, almost 400 individuals have signed up and received their free admission ticket to the event.

The career expo and resource fair will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 30 minutes of the event will be limited to U.S. military veterans who are seeking employment. The general public will be admitted at 11 a.m. Find event details at: http://www.wisconsincareerexpo.com/.
