Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair in Racine Is One Week Away

MADISON – Earlier this month, Governor Scott Walker, Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, Mount Pleasant Village President Dave DeGroot and City of Racine Mayor Cory Mason announced the Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair taking place on Thursday, March 29th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Racine Civic Centre’s Festival Hall. Individuals interested in pursuing a career in construction are invited to attend the resource fair to connect with community resources and to understand the skills needed to launch a career in construction.

Community organizations, workforce partners and vendors will provide seminars and services to support the unemployed and underemployed, as well as those seeking to enhance their skills to prepare them for opportunities in the construction industry.

There is no cost and no registration needed for individuals interested attending the resource fair. Vendors are still encouraged to register and can be done at no cost at: wisconnvalley.eventbrite.com.

The Wisconn Valley Construction Resource Fair is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Departments of Administration, Transportation, and Workforce Development, as well as the City and County of Racine, Village of Mount Pleasant, Racine County Economic Development Corporation and the Southeast Wisconsin Workforce Development Board.

The Racine Civic Centre is located at 5 Fifth Street in Racine, event parking is free in the lot south of the main entrance. In addition, individuals from Milwaukee and Kenosha counties may register for free event transportation by calling the organization in their community: Milwaukee Careers Cooperative at (414) 937-8260 or Kenosha Achievement Center at (262) 658-9568.
