DWD Announces New Enhancements to WisConnect – Your Source for Wisconsin Internships

InternshipWisconsin.com website currently lists over 1,000 internship opportunities and hundreds of potential interns

MADISON – Today, the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced the latest round of enhancements to WisConnect, the state's premier internship website located at InternshipWisconsin.com.

DWD launched WisConnect last summer to create a central hub for Wisconsin-based internship opportunities. The site has undergone several updates to make it easier for college students to build profiles and look for internships, and to help employers find the brightest student talent for internship openings.

"Wisconsin's public, private and technical colleges are busy preparing Wisconsin's next generation of workers for good-paying jobs in the modern economy, and our ability to retain college students and attract students from outside Wisconsin will be key to our success," DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "I encourage Wisconsin employers to visit WisConnect for resources to launch and market internship opportunities, and I invite all college students to create WisConnect profiles and start searching for new opportunities today."

The newest WisConnect updates improve the user experience and add resources for college students and employers to help maximize the positive impact of internships on the state's talent pipeline. Highlights include:

DWD launched WisConnect in summer 2017 to help employers meet their workforce needs by growing tomorrow's talent today through internships. With studies showing the value of internships in attracting, training and retaining college students during and after graduation, WisConnect serves as an important tool to support a robust talent pipeline in Wisconsin.
