Financial Specialist Senior

Introduction

The Department of Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) has a vacancy available for a Financial Specialist Senior in Baraboo.

This position will be headquartered at the UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County Campus in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This position is eligible to work remotely up to 2-3 days per week after an initial training period.

Job Duties

This position is responsible for financial and recordkeeping work for the Division using established accounting and documentation procedures. This position is accountable for ensuring that vocational services are rendered as intended, timely, and that purchase orders, payments, and invoices are processed appropriately.

This position works in a team environment and has both fiscal and non-fiscal responsibilities. Supporting team members in managing projects and coordinating services is integral to the position.

Qualifications

  • Using computer software for business and/or financial purposes (e.g., Outlook, Sharepoint, case management software such as IRIS, financial software such as PeopleSoft, Quickbooks, etc.).
  • Processing financial documents/transactions (e.g., invoices, purchase orders, etc.) in compliance with state, federal, and/or organizational guidelines (e.g., statutes, policies, fund use directives, etc.).
  • Providing customer service in an office environment (e.g. working with stakeholders, vendors, clients, etc. to obtain/provide information, coordinate services, etc.).
  • Communicating and relating interpersonally with others to maintain effective working relationships.

Eligibility Information

This opportunity is limited to current classified DWD employees (including seasonal employees and employees on probation) who are not serving on a limited term or project employment basis. Salary Information

This position is in the 02-13 pay range. Starting salary will be in accordance with the state compensation plan. In accordance with Wis.Stat.230.28, a probationary period may be required.
