If you receive tips, your employer must pay you at least $2.33 per hour in wages. If your tips combined with the hourly wage of at least $2.33 per hour do not average at least $7.25 per hour over the course of the pay period, your employer must make up the difference.
The opportunity wage is the wage your employer may pay you if you are under 20 years old. If you are under 20 years old, your employer may pay the opportunity wage of $5.90 per hour for your first consecutive calendar days of employment. After 90 consecutive calendar days, or when you reach 20 years old, whichever comes first, you must receive a minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
