Health Science Occupational Pathway

Health Science jobs include work in ambulatory healthcare, nursing and residential care, and hospitals. This Youth Apprenticeship occupational area focuses on three pathways:

Skills involved include caring and treatment of patients, processing patient data and information, and supporting medical professionals.

Health Science Pathways

Students can choose from three different occupational areas with options to specific pathways.

Therapeutic Services Pathway

In this pathway, students will build basic skills in using standard precautions and infection control, managing client appointments, creating client record, and completing client identification labels. There are five areas to choose from:

Health Informatics Pathway

In this pathway, students will build basic skills in maintaining medical office correspondence, performing records management duties, locating or creating information in the client record, and completing client identification labels. There is one area to choose from:

Ambulatory/Support Services

In this pathway, students will build basic skills in maintaining department documents, creating client records and identification labels, managing appointments, and using computer systems to process information. There are six areas to choose from:
