Roadway Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship

Roadway Maintenance Technicians maintain highways, municipal and rural roads, airport runways, and rights-of-way. They patch broken or eroded pavement; repair guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences; and may mow or clear or plow snow.

Additional Training

Within the first six months of the program, the apprentice must obtain a CDL Class B permit.

Prior to completing the program, the apprentice must obtain the following certifications:

  1. OSHA Competent Person Training
  2. Confined Space Certification
  3. Flagger Training
  4. Mine Safety Hazard Awareness
  5. Adult First Aid/CPR/AED
