Training Programs

The federal government offers training programs for individuals who are considered eligible under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Individuals interested in receiving employment and training services through WIOA should contact their local job center about eligibility requirements and applying for the training opportunities.

Adult Dislocated Worker Youth

Adult

Training opportunities are available to eligible individuals. You may be eligible if you are age 18+, eligible to work in the US, and registered for selective service, if male.

To determine if you are eligible to receive these services, contact your local job center and meet with a representative.

  • Job search assistance
  • Job placement assistance
  • Career counseling
  • Assessment of skills and supportive service needs
  • Development of an Individualized Employment Plan
  • Career planning
  • Financial literacy services
  • Worker training

Dislocated Worker

If you're a worker who has been laid off (or notified that a layoff is coming) through no fault of your own, often referred to as a 'dislocated worker', we offer services at no cost that focus on preparing you to find a suitable new job.

Youth

Assistance is available to youth who are currently in school, as well as those who are out of school. Services will include training and development programs, as well as after-school services and employment support. Eligibility for these assistance services must be determined by visiting a local job center.

Eligible youth may include, but are not limited to, individuals who are:

  • Homeless
  • Pregnant or parenting
  • From low-income households
  • Subject to the juvenile or adult justice system
  • Part of the foster care system
  • Persons with a disability
  • English language learners
