Insurance Letter 546

Purpose

To inform Insurers, Self-Insured Employers, and Claims Handling Offices of changes to the Worker's Compensation Division's Insurers' Pending Reports

Background

The current version of the Worker's Compensation Division's Insurers' Pending Reports is undergoing a major revision that will both modernize and streamline its look and feel as well as introduce some enhanced functionality. New features include:

• The ability to download listings of reports due by more than one claim status at a time using six different "due date" timeframes.
• Assistance with WKC12 data entry, including:
  • Quick fill injury coding for hernias and occupational hearing loss.
  • An employer lookup function that allows the user to search the Worker's Compensation Division's employer records by FEIN. Existing employer and address records can be used to quickly populate that information. Otherwise, if the correct employer or address is not found, new employers and addresses can be added.
• A streamlined process for changing the amount of compensation paid on previously submitted periods of temporary disability.
• The ability to upload supporting documentation, including medical reports, directly to the claim. Document Upload is not for submission of WKC-12, WKC-13, WKC-13A/A1 or TPD Worksheet forms. These required reports are required to be submitted via the Insurers' Pending Reports application interface and will not be accepted as a document upload.
• The ability to view an Insurers' Pending Reports submission history related to the claim, with the capability to view the content of those submissions and then download that content as a PDF.
• The ability to view all documents associated with the claim in our imaging database.
• Enhanced security using multi-factor authentication methods.

As existing users of the current Insurers' Pending Reports, assignment to your insurer or claim handling business(s) will be retained, however new accounts in the MyWisconsin ID environment will have to be created based on your business email. Please note that users of the Worker's Compensation Division's Claims Handling Performance Reports, Surcharge Reports, and Administrative Assessment Reports will continue to access those reports with their WIEXT credentials until the time access to those reports is transferred over to the MyWisconsin ID infrastructure.

Action Requested

Be on the lookout for future communications regarding this new phase in the Insurers' Pending Reports. Communications will be sent via email to system users with further instructions. Security Administrators received earlier communication to verify their company access and to coordinate with users to verify their email addresses in the current system.
