A Visual Resume is an alternative method of presenting information typically found in a traditional resume using visual materials to represent a consumer and their skills. Visual resumes highlight competencies demonstrated through life experience and may be used to support employment discussions with potential employers.

The use of a visual resume is an innovation commonly associated with Customized Employment but may be appropriate for other DVR consumers when traditional resume formats are not effective.

Service Delivery Expectations

  • A DVR Authorization for Services is required before any services can begin.
  • Prior to developing a visual resume, the Service Provider must discuss with the consumer and DVR whether a visual resume is an appropriate tool based on the consumer's goals and potential employer needs.

Visual Resume Service Overview

The Visual Resume is designed to support employment development activities by providing employers with a visual and narrative representation of a consumer's competencies, interests, and potential contributions. The visual resume may be used by job developers in conjunction with other employment materials.

Service Components

  • Develop a visual resume using a professional presentation format (e.g., PowerPoint or similar) that allows for a stand-alone presentation of the consumer's information.
  • Gather information in collaboration with the consumer to ensure the visual resume accurately reflects the consumer's skills, experiences, and employment interests.
  • Ensure content is respectful, strengths-based, and employer-focused.

Service Requirements

The Visual Resume must include:

  • An introductory photo or image that represents the consumer in a respectful and competent manner.
  • Images that demonstrate competent performance and positive aspects of the consumer's life experiences relevant to potential employers.
  • Succinct narrative text emphasizing contributions and benefits to the employer.
  • A concluding task list of 8-12 tasks the consumer is interested in performing, aligned with the consumer's employment goals and matched to the employer's type of business and business needs.
  • Overall layout and design that supports clear communication and professional presentation.

Documentation/Reporting Expectations

  • There is no required DVR reporting template for this service.
  • The completed Visual Resume serves as the required deliverable for this service.
RATE SERVICE
$400

Visual Resume:

Payable upon delivery of an acceptable service and submission of required deliverable(s) to DVR within five (5) business days of the conclusion of the last contact with the consumer. Completion of service not to exceed 30 days from receipt of purchase order.

Customized Employment: (Code 048) Custom Emp (SE): Job Develop
All other service types: See Coding Note below.

Fee Schedule/Coding Note

When used for consumers other than those with a Customized Employment (CE) plan type, the activity code for Visual Resume should correspond to the consumer's service type:

  • Regular Job Development - Code 024: Job Development.
  • Supported Employment - Code 051: Supported Employ: Job Develop.
  • Student Work-Based Learning – Code 208: PRE-ETS: Student Work Based Learning Services.
  • IPS - Code 049: IPS (SE): Job Develop.
  • Customized Employment - Code 048: Custom Emp (SE): Job Develop.
