Agriculture Mechanic Technician

Agriculture Mechanic Technician youth apprentices gain skills related to the maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment including use of tools, materials, engines, parts, diagnostic tools, welding, hydraulics, electronics, and documentation. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Animal Fundamentals

Animal Fundamentals youth apprentices gain skills applicable the fundamental care and management of animals, including feeding, animal health, equipment operation and service, and facility maintenance.

Animal/Herd

Animal/Herd youth apprentices gain skills applicable the care and management of large and herd animals, including feeding, animal health, equipment operation and service, and facility maintenance.

Arborist

Arborists provide professional tree care. They use rigging to ascent trees. Youth Apprentices plant trees and shrubs inspect trees and shrubs and perform pruning cuts.

Crops

Crops youth apprentices learn the skills needed to produce quality crops including planting crops, monitoring crop health, harvesting crops, and performing post-harvest handling and recordkeeping.

Dairy Grazier

Dairy Grazier youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of managed pastures and sustainable farming practices, managing livestock herds, grazing and milking. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Environmental Systems: Basic and Adv. Water Resources

Environmental systems youth apprentices learn core skills needed by the water industry to promote protection, improvement, and sustainability of water resources.

Floral/Greenhouse

Landscaping introduces apprentices to all aspects of floral/greenhouse from servicing customers, to maintaining plants, to filling orders.

Landscaping

Landscaping introduces apprentices to all aspects of landscaping from design, to creating and maintaining the landscaped area.

Plant Fundamentals

Plant Fundamentals introduces apprentices to key skills in plant related apprenticeships: crops, landscape, and floral/greenhouse.

Small Animal/Vet Tech

Small Animal/Veterinary Technician youth apprentices gain skills applicable the care and management of small animals and veterinary technician skills, including supporting office and business duties, preparing animals for care, diagnostic tasks, and monitoring small animals.



Architectural Drafting and Planning

Youth apprentices develop the skills needed to read, edit, and create architectural drawings. In the second year, youth apprentices expand their skills in developing specific residential and/or commercial design pieces.

Carpentry Fundamentals

Carpentry Fundamentals youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of construction safety, drawings and blueprints, materials, tools, and general worksite procedures. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Electrical Fundamentals

Electrical Fundamentals youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of construction safety, drawings and blueprints, materials, tools, and electrical worksite procedures. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Gas Distribution Technician

Gas Distribution Technician youth apprentices assist and provide support in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the company’s natural gas distribution system.

Heavy Equipment Operator and Operating Engineer

Heavy Equipment Operators and Operating Engineer youth apprentices learn fundamental construction skills for commercial and residential developments, dams, roadways, etc. They learn blueprint reading, site layout, working safely, and the operation of tools and equipment.

Masonry/Concrete Fundamentals

Masonry/Concrete Fundamentals youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of construction safety, drawings and blueprints, materials, tools, materials, and general worksite procedures related to the masonry and concrete fields. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Mechanical/HVAC Fundamentals

Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Fundamentals youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of construction safety, drawings and blueprints, materials, tools, and general worksite procedures. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Plumbing/Sprinkler Fitting fundamentals

Plumber/Sprinkler Fitter youth apprentices gain skills related to the use of plumbing safety, drawings and blueprints, materials, tools, materials, and general worksite procedures. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Utilities Field Technician

Utilities Field Technician youth apprentices perform routine service work and related duties on utility systems. Youth apprentices perform a wide variety of activities both at the worksite and in the field.



Graphic Design

The Graphic Designer Youth Apprentice is trained in graphic layout, software, editing, managing digital files, color concepts, and typography.

Media Broadcast Technician

Media Broadcast Technician youth apprentices gain foundational skills of set up, operation, and maintenance of equipment used to transmit audio and video for radio or television.

Pre-Press Operator

Pre-Press Operator youth apprentices gain a foundation of pre-press skills including software, equipment, color, and pre-press processes.

Press and Post-Press Operator

Press and Post-Press Operator youth apprentices gain foundational skills of press and post-press operation skills including printing software, equipment, and press and post-press processes.



Administrative Professional (New)

Administrative Professionals support organizations combining organizational and people skills, using information processing and office technologies.

Human Resource Professional (New)

Human Resource Professionals support organizational management of employee hiring, benefit administration, payroll, and general employee relations.



Early Childhood Education (New)

Early childhood youth apprentices assist teachers in a variety of settings. Focus is placed on maintaining a safe and healthy environment, building relationships with parents and staff, and implementing learning activities.

School Age Education (New)

School Age education youth apprentices work in a variety of school age settings and learn valuable skills for working with children and preparing them to become a teacher.



Accounting

Accounting youth apprentices learn skills in bookkeeping and accounting functions.

Banking

Banking youth apprentices provide account services to customers. They also gain skills in business processes, lending and marketing.

Insurance

Insurance youth apprentices acquire business management practices and insurance specific concepts that will prepare them to work in a variety of positions within the insurance industry, including claims, underwriting, customer service and sales.



Government Project Administration

Students in this pathway gain skills related to project management approaches to support organizational formulation of strategies and execution of projects to achieve strategic goals.



Dental Assistant

Dental Assistant youth apprentices prepare patients, sterilize, or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist the dentist during dental procedures.

Dietary Aide

Dietary Aide youth apprentices assist with meal planning and preparation while practicing infection control and safety. They serve food and aid clients with eating. They maintain the kitchen and dining room inventory and perform necessary quality checks to meet federal food safety requirements.

Medical Assistant

Medical assistant youth apprentices are oriented to both the administrative and clinical duties of a physician's office from general office procedures to the technical phases of examining room assisting and elementary medical laboratory techniques.

Medical Imaging

Medical imaging youth apprentices support radiologic health professionals by preparing the room for procedures, providing patient support, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supply inventory.

Medical Laboratory Assistant

A Medical Laboratory Assistant youth apprentice performs specimen collection, transport, and processing of fluids for analysis. Youth apprentices pay attention to pre-analytical factors which compromise the accuracy of test results.

Medical Office

Medical office youth apprentices perform a variety of administrative tasks in a medical office or patient scheduling centers.

Nursing Assistant

Nursing assistants provide basic care and help patients with activities of daily living. In WI, youth apprentices must complete a nurse aid training program and pass the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam.

Optical Assistant

Optical Assistant youth apprentices help clients select frames, and measure and fit them for their optical prescription. They also assist with eye exams including exam setup, cleaning, and restocking.

Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician youth apprentices prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. They may also measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.

Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist youth apprentices draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.

Physical Therapy Aide

Physical therapy aide youth apprentices clean and setup the treatment area, move patients, and performing clerical duties. They also assist physical therapists in training and treatment.

Resident Aide

Resident Aides provide key caregiving activities to clients in a caregiving facility. In WI, youth apprentices working in a CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) must complete the required WI DHS training but are not required to pass the CNA exam.



Food and Beverage Service

The Food and Beverage Service can be broadly defined as the process of preparing, presenting, and serving of food and beverages. Food and beverage service and related workers perform a variety of customer service, food preparation, management, and cleaning duties in restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, and other eating and drinking establishments.

Lodging

Lodging youth apprentices ensure that guests on vacation or business travel have a pleasant experience at a hotel, motel, or other types of establishments with accommodations. Lodging apprentices also assist with ensuring that the establishment is run safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Meetings and Events

Meetings and Events youth apprentices plan, promote, and service meetings, events, conferences, and conventions. Youth apprentices work with planning budgets and goals, workflow management, vendor relationships, room layouts and seating formats, food and beverage, entertainment, technology, and audio-visual equipment. Youth apprentices also assist with ensuring that a meeting or event is run safely, efficiently, and profitably.



Barber and Cosmetology

Students in this pathway support hairstylists in delivering client services related to personal appearance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing salon operations.



Broadband Technician

The Broadband Technician assists with on-site installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of telecommunications products and equipment. Technicians have direct, face-to-face contact with customers. Services include, but are not limited to, Telephony, Video/CATV/DBS, Internet, Wi-Fi, and/or high-speed networks.

IT Essentials

IT Essentials youth apprentices gain a foundation of information technology skills applicable in many areas of IT, including desktop, software, and security skills.

IT Network and Security

IT Network and Security youth apprentices assist with network systems and cybersecurity processes, including network performance, maintenance, and security of systems and information.

IT Software and Application Development

IT Software and Application Development youth apprentices gain code writing, troubleshooting, and system security skills related to the development of software and applications.



Fire Protection

Students in this pathway gain skills related to fire protection and community protection.

Law Enforcement

Students in this pathway gain skills related to the enforcement of laws and safety of citizens.



Assembly and Packaging

Assembly and Packaging youth apprentices follow processes to prepare goods and materials for shipping, including set up of assembly and packaging equipment and machinery. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Electromechanical/Mechatronics

Electromechanical/Mechatronics youth apprentices gain skills related to operating, testing, maintaining, or adjusting unmanned, automated, servomechanical, or electromechanical equipment. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Industrial Equipment

Industrial Equipment youth apprentices set up, operate, monitor, and control production equipment. Requirements. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Machining

Machining youth apprentices assist with basic machine operations, processes, and tools. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Manufacturing Processes

Manufacturing Process youth apprentices work with tools, equipment, and processes in various manufacturing industries. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Production Operations

Production Operation youth apprentices gain skills related to the procedures and tools associated with manufacturing operations. Foundation tools, data analysis and troubleshooting are integrated. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Welding

Welding youth apprentices practice welding fabrication processes in various industry environments. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.



Marketing Communication

Marketing communications youth apprentices help plan and implement programs to generate interest in products or services.

Marketing Management/Leadership

Marketing management/leadership youth apprentices help plan and coordinate activities that help a marketing team run efficiently.

Marketing Research/Competitive Intelligence

Marketing research youth apprentices study market conditions to examine potential sales of a product or service.

Merchandising

Merchandising youth apprentices sell merchandise to consumers. In addition, they work with merchandising displays and maintain product inventory.

Professional Sales

Professional sales youth apprentices carry out sales and sales related activities on behalf of a business. Youth apprentices determine customer needs, communicate product information, and handle sales transactions.



Bioscience Lab Foundations

Bioscience Lab Foundations youth apprentices use laboratory equipment and tools to perform biological laboratory procedures. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Bioscience Applications

Bioscience Applications youth apprentices perform biological laboratory procedures, including preanalytical, analytical and post-analytical work using common laboratory equipment. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering youth apprentices contribute to the development, assessment, and design of highway, bridge, building, and municipal construction. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Engineering Drafting

Engineering Drafting youth apprentices prepare engineering drawings using current industry software, integrating concepts of building materials, engineering practices, and mathematics. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Mechanical/Electrical Engineering youth apprentices use mechanical/electrical drawings to contribute to the construction of prototypes, concepts, and mechanical/electrical engineering projects. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.



Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician

Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) youth apprentices gain various, high-demand aircraft maintenance skills. All youth apprentices must take the Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals the first year. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Airport Operations and Management

Airport Operations Management youth apprentices gain various, high-demand airport operations management skills, including facility maintenance, safety, and general airport operations. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Auto Technician

Automotive Technician youth apprentices gain skills related to the preventative maintenance and repair of automobiles and light trucks. Youth apprentices are emersed in the evolving automotive technology and integrated systems. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals

Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals youth apprentices gain various, high-demand aircraft maintenance skills. All youth apprentices must take the Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals the first year and can specialize in Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Avionics the second year. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards

Avionics Technician

Avionic Technician youth apprentices gain various, high-demand aircraft avionics skills. All youth apprentices must take the Aviation Maintenance Fundamentals in the first year. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Collision Repair

Collision Repair youth apprentices gain skills related to the preventative maintenance and repair of Collision vehicles and equipment. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Diesel Technician

Diesel Technician youth apprentices gain skills related to the preventative maintenance and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. Apprentices must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Distribution and Transportation Operations

Youth apprentices learn how to plan, document, and coordinate shipping of goods and services.

Inventory Management

Youth apprentices process documentation and expedite the flow of work and materials according to production schedule. They also develop skills in effective inventory management.

Planning and Purchasing

Youth apprentices learn planning and purchasing fundamentals. They provide product and service information, process claims, plan orders, maintain order and receipt schedules, and monitor order status.

Storage and Warehousing

Youth apprentices unload, store, and issue goods and services to meet internal and external customer needs.

Supply Chain Assistant

Supply chain assistant youth apprentices learn the basic skills needed to perform entry level work in supply chain management. Youth apprentices work with internal and external customers, track order status, learn about forecasting, inspect goods and services, and prepare schedules.
