MADISON – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today announced the rollout of additional educational tools that will help Wisconsin workers, employers, and other stakeholders learn more about and connect with organizations and resources that work to advance workplace safety across the state.
"A strong workplace safety program is a win-win for everyone involved," DWD Secretary Caleb Frostman said. "Workers reap the benefits in the form of fewer on-the-job injuries and the continuing ability to earn family-supporting wages. Employers benefit from higher productivity and profitability, reduced worker's compensation premiums, and more. We are happy to provide additional tools to build awareness of the great work being done by the Wisconsin Safety Council, union and trade associations, and many other organizations to keep workers safe."
DWD's Division of Worker's Compensation (WC) is rolling out the following items:
These educational tools complement a variety of resources and information that's already accessible from DWD's website. DWD will utilize its Facebook, YouTube and Twitter accounts as part of ongoing efforts to build awareness of workplace safety resources.
