Job Center Central Open House, Resource and Job Fair Held Today

MILWAUKEE – Today, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Employ Milwaukee and area partners hosted a Community Open House, Resource and Job Fair at Job Center Central located in Century City Tower in Milwaukee.

"Today's event at Job Center Central embodies the 'no wrong door' approach of Wisconsin's workforce system," DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "With so many valuable partners under one roof, Milwaukee job seekers have myriad resources available to ensure that they can start on the pathway to finding a quality job, right here in Wisconsin."

The Job Fair featured many local employers with immediate job openings to fill, including FedEx, Spectrum, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, Ritus Corporation and more!

Along with the job fair, DWD offered information on available employment and training programs and services. Partner organizations made available a variety of community resources that are essential for securing and retaining employment, such as child support, driver license recovery, fatherhood, reentry and veteran services, FoodShare, housing assistance, vocational rehabilitation and W-2.

The Community Open House, Resource and Job Fair was coordinated by DWD and Employ Milwaukee in partnership with the City and County of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and the Wisconsin Departments of Children and Families, Financial Institutions and Health Services.
