Over 15 Employers to Attend Job Center Central Open House, Resource and Job Fair on November 2

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Employ Milwaukee and area partners invite job seekers to attend a Community Open House, Resource and Job Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on November 2 at Job Center Central featuring over 15 local employers with immediate job openings to fill.

"The Job Center Central Community Open House, Resource and Job Fair is designed to introduce the public to the exceptional employment and training services available at their local job center while connecting them with supportive resources and employment opportunities," DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "I encourage job seekers to come prepared to meet hiring managers in person."

In addition to the job fair, DWD will offer Job Center Central tours and information on available employment and training programs and services. Partners also will make available a variety of community resources that are essential for securing and retaining employment, such as child support, driver license recovery, fatherhood, reentry and veteran services, FoodShare, housing assistance, vocational rehabilitation and W-2.

“We are looking forward to helping individuals connect to the workforce system and ultimately careers in high growth industries,” said Earl Buford, President and CEO, Employ Milwaukee. “This partnership will build our workforce for regional employers.”

Job seekers who attend the event should dress for success, bring multiple resume copies and prepare to meet hiring managers in person. Registering on JobCenterofWisconsin.com prior to the event is encouraged.

The Community Open House, Resource and Job Fair is coordinated by DWD and Employ Milwaukee in partnership with the City and County of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority and the Wisconsin Departments of Children and Families, Financial Institutions and Health Services.

Job Center Central is located in Century City Tower, 4201 N. 27th Street, Milwaukee. Job seekers should access the event through the fenced parking lot behind the building and use the door on the north side of the facility.
