National Association of State Workforce Agencies elects 2018 Board of Directors at Annual Workforce Summit
MADISON – Today, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA), which represents state and U.S. territory workforce agencies nationwide, announced the selection of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen as the Region 5 representative to their Board of Directors. The board consists of 10 members representing various geographic locations across the country. The board directs the business of the association.
"I am extremely honored by the selection to the NASWA Board of Directors and look forward to working with my colleagues to help direct and advocate for the development of workforce policies that benefits both workers and businesses in Wisconsin and across our great country," Secretary Allen said. "In Wisconsin, we have a history of leading in the area of workforce policy by implementing programs such as Wisconsin Fast Forward, Youth and Registered Apprenticeship and our new, cutting edge Internship Program. I look forward to bringing this innovative approach to our nation's leading workforce association."
NASWA represents 50 state and three territory workforce agencies, which oversee the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs, employment services, unemployment insurance, employment statistics and labor market and workforce information programming. NASWA delivers policy expertise on these issues.
