BLS Data: Wisconsin 12th in the Nation for Average Weekly Wage Private-Sector Wage Growth

MADISON – Wisconsin has the nation's twelve-highest growth in average weekly private-sector wages from June 2015 to June 2016, according to today's release of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) state-by-state Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages (QCEW) data covering the second quarter of 2016.

Other 12-month changes through June 2016 include:

Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen issued the following statement in response to the new data:

"Wisconsin continues to add thousands of private sector jobs year-over-year," Secretary Allen said. "Our economy is growing, and with a lower unemployment rate and higher labor force participation rate than the nation, we will continue helping anyone who wants a job, find a job.

Today's data also show that the jobs we are gaining are well-paying with the 12th best percentage average weekly wage growth for private sector wages in the nation, outpacing Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio."
