Rate of manufacturing job growth over the month also ranks in the top 10, with number of manufacturing jobs added ranking No. 3 in the country

MADISON – Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen released the following statement following today's U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release showing Wisconsin had the nation's sixth-highest rate of growth in total non-farm jobs during the month of October. The state's number of total nonfarm jobs added ranked fifth highest:

"In addition to Wisconsin adding a statistically significant 10,400 total non-farm jobs in October – ranking as the nation's sixth-highest rate of growth over the month and fifth highest in number of jobs added – we also added a statistically significant 28,400 total non-farm jobs over the year," Secretary Allen said. "Combined with our 15-year low unemployment rate of 4.1 percent and the number of employed Wisconsinites growing by 46,000 over the year, multiple indicators show Wisconsin is working, employers are hiring and our economy is strong."
