Secretary Allen recognizes the service of Veterans and Mercury Marine's dedication to employing former and current service members
FOND DU LAC – Today, Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Ray Allen participated in a Veterans Day event at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac to recognize veterans who have served or continue to serve this great country. Secretary Allen was joined by officials from Mercury Marine, the Department of Veterans Affairs and Brigadier General Brian Winski, a native of Wisconsin who currently holds the position of Army Operations, Readiness and Mobilization Director at the Pentagon. Secretary Allen delivered brief remarks thanking veterans for their service and highlighting DWD's efforts to connect job seekers, specifically veterans, with gainful employment.
"The service of our fine veterans should be recognized every day, but today
is a special opportunity to take a moment and say thanks," Secretary Allen said.
"At DWD, we pride ourselves in connecting job seekers with gainful employment,
and when our veterans return from serving our country, finding family supporting
employment shouldn’t be a battle. DWD's Office of Veterans Services is known for
effectively serving Wisconsin's veteran population, and I encourage all veterans
to take advantage of these vital services."
