Fourth in a series of workshops to be held October 21 at UW-Platteville
MADISON – Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch will join officials from the Department of Workforce Development (DWD), University of Wisconsin System (UW System) and the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Friday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. for a Workforce Alignment – Internship Strategies Workshop. Other speakers include DWD Assistant Deputy Secretary Dave Anderson, UW System President Ray Cross, Wisconsin State Senator Howard Marklein and others.
Employers with existing internship programs and employers who are interested in implementing an internship program are strongly encouraged to attend this free event.
Internship programs not only benefit the student, but also the employer. Employers are able to observe students in action before hire, while students are able to demonstrate their skills in a work setting. Internship programs are a valuable workforce retention strategy as they encourage students who intern for a Wisconsin company to stay in Wisconsin after graduation.
To register for the event.
