MADISON – Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Deputy Secretary Georgia Maxwell and Assistant Deputy Secretary Dave Anderson made multiple stops today to highlight DWD's efforts to attract and retain skilled talent in Wisconsin. The stops were part of Governor Walker's Cabinet on the Road Tour through Northern Wisconsin.
"Developing the workforce is a central part of Governor Walker's plan to continue growing Wisconsin's economy," DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "Programs like Youth and Registered Apprenticeship, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Wisconsin Fast Forward are ensuring that employers have tools available to fill their needs for skilled talent."
DWD administers the state's talent development programs as well as the Unemployment Insurance and Worker's Compensation programs. Under Governor Walker's leadership, DWD has redoubled efforts to develop Wisconsin's workforce and provide customized worker training programs for employers and workers.
