Advanced EMT students are Wisconsin licensed EMTs seeking to upgrade their skills to the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician level. These skills are performed and compliant with the Wisconsin scope of practice. A graduate of this technical diploma program has the potential for employment as an advanced EMT technician, performing pre-hospital patient care for the ill and injured with a Wisconsin ambulance service licensed to provide EMT advanced level care. Ambulance services in Wisconsin are volunteer, private, fire-based, or hospital-based. • Current Wisconsin EMT license. Must be 18 years or older to enter training • Students are required to maintain a current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification on a two-year renewal cycle to comply with affiliating agency requirements • Aptitudes required for work of this nature are good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times, in excess of 125 lbs

100% refund, if application for refund is made by the student prior to the first scheduled meeting of the course and the student does not add another course. 80% refund for a course is made before or at the time 10% of the course's total hours of instruction have been completed. 60% refund for a course is made after 10% but before more than 20% of the course's potential hours of instruction have been completed. No refund if application is made after 20% of the course's total hours.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
