40 Hour Class B CDL

The Class B CDL 40 Hour Straight Truck Course is a one week course. Students will earn their Class B CDL with air brakes. Course includes commercial driver's license required to operate a dump truck, straight truck, road commission truck, utility vehicle, propane truck or any other Class B CMV. Class includes 40 hours of classroom instruction, yard maneuvers, and on the road behind-the-wheel training.

Applicants must have a valid Driver's License, DOT physical, be at least 18 years old, and no disqualifying suspensions on their license in the past three years. Students will also have to get their commercial learner's permit (CLP) from their home state of residence at least one week prior to the start of the course. Applicants must also pass a DOT five panel drug screen to officially be enrolled in the program.

The enrollment application, DOT Physical, and a copy of their valid CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit) must be received at least one week prior to the first day of class. Classes tend to fill up in advance so please call the School at 906-789-6311 for program availability. Thank you!
Students earning their Class B CDL will be ready to enter the trucking industry as an entry level professional driver. Class B CDL driving opportunities include hazmat trucks, propane trucks, sanitation trucks, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, straight trucks, as well as School Buses and Passenger Buses.
Midwest Truck Driving School has an employment job board in the classroom that is updated with job positions open for CDL holders. We also have recruiters that come into the School and also offer assistance to those who need it to research companies that are hiring in their area and will help them with the application process if it is requested.
Midwest Truck Driving School prides itself on our students success and we always say, "Our student's success is our success". With that motto in mind if a student needs extra time or tutoring on the material we offer one on one time to get them up to speed.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
