As a graduate of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, you can choose to work in a variety of health care settings including clinics, hospitals, private practice physician offices, and public health facilities and laboratories. You perform routine sonographic (ultrasound) examinations of the body to include the abdomen, small parts, obstetrics, and gynecology. You work closely with physicians and may assist in the performance of invasive procedures. Mandatory pre-application information session. Two semesters in high school, or one semester of college Algebra, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (with a lab component) with a grade of "B" or better. HESI A2 exam. Essay. Candidates are ranked in the following categories: HESI scores and program essay. The highest ranking candidates will be offered a place on the program wait list. Remaining candidates will need to resubmit a new application for the following year to have an opportunity to re-apply with the following year's applicants.

100% refund, if application for refund is made by the student prior to the first scheduled meeting of the course and the student does not add another course. 80% refund for a course is made before or at the time 10% of the course's total hours of instruction have been completed. 60% refund for a course is made after 10% but before more than 20% of the course's potential hours of instruction have been completed. No refund shall be granted if application is made after 20% of the course's total.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
