Phlebotomy Certificate
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
The Phlebotomy Certificate teaches blood-collecting techniques that include venipuncture, and skin punctures to provide samples necessary for lab analysis. Students also learn techniques and procedures needed to assist with various lab procedures, including specimen processing. The phlebotomist must recognize any conditions that might alter collections, correlate types of lab tests to the written diagnosis, and communicate with both the laboratory and the patients to provide the best care possible and assure specimen integrity. Completers will be able to apply credits toward the following programs: • 315091, Medical Assistant • 105131, Medical Laboratory Technician

Students can officially withdraw from classes before 60% of the class has been completed; a Withdraw (W) grade will be posted. If a student withdraws during the refund period, a refund adjustment may be posted to their account. If students receives financial aid, veteran’s funding or agency assistance, it is their responsibility to notify the appropriate office to verify potential repayment of funds.
