Standard s Phlebotomy course will run for 6 weeks in length to prepare students to receive their National Certification as a Phlebotomist through the National Health Career Association (NHA). The certifications are standardized and are a widely-accepted symbol of achievement for health science students who want to start a career as a Phlebotomist. The course is divided into two parts 100 hours in class instruction and 40 hours of supervised clinical practice. Part I Phlebotomy Essentials. The Phlebotomy Essentials course provides students with knowledge of First Aid, Infection Control, Venipuncture, Urinalysis, Centrifuging and processing, Physiology, Anatomy and infectious disease collecting and testing. This program is offered

No application deadline. Applications and enrollment is done on first come first serve basis.
Upon successful completion of the national certification exam students can start their career as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Students are placed in clinical setting with an employer upon completion students are assisted with job placement.
Any student that request or is identified as needing additional assistance to prepare for the national exam or practice that assistance will be provided.

No program refunds. Cost for the program are based solely on student attendance. If the student does not complete the required components vouchers are honored for up to six months to allow the student to obtain the requested certification.

PLEASE NOTE:

If there are fewer than eight enrollments in the training program, only the "Enrollments" number will be displayed; all other data is hidden in order to help protect the students' identities. The "Employment Outcomes" are calculated using information from Wisconsin's Unemployment Insurance Wage database. Most employers are required to report certain employment information to the State of Wisconsin, including quarterly wage information for their employees. Students whose information could not be verified in this database are excluded from these outcomes. If a "0" shows for any of these outcomes, it means that none of the students' information could be verified.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
