Fabrication Technologies
Moraine Park Technical College
The Fabrication Technologies program enables students to acquire high-performance knowledge and skills needed to help boost the productivity, innovation, and competitiveness of local manufacturers. Students gain fabricating skills in automated cutting, forming and welding processes that prepare them for obtaining the Precision Sheet Metal Certification from the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association. The coursework also includes topics in computer aided design (CAD); computer numerical control (CNC), advanced manufacturing planning and production; lean manufacturing practices; and quality applications used in today s advanced manufacturing companies. Students will apply sustainable recycling methods throughout the program. The general studies courses in communications, economics and math prepare students for career advancement and provide transfer opportunities to four-year colleges and universities. Show More

This program is offered

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
The courses in Moraine Park's Manufacturing Fundamentals Certificate can be directly transferred into Moraine Park's Fabrication Technologies associate of applied science degree.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
