Emergency Medical Technician

Prepare to work as an entry-level EMS Professional in Wisconsin with the Emergency Medical Technician program. EMTs respond to emergencies and transport patients to appropriate care facilities. Working as an EMT, you ll respond to a number of situations ranging from vehicle crashes, heart attacks, childbirths to gunshot wounds. This technical diploma prepares students to assess and treat health related emergencies, check a scene for hazards and care for injured patients. Completion of the EMT course allows students to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians cognitive examination and State practical examination, which qualify the students for Wisconsin EMT licensure. Students accepted into the Emergency Medical Technician program must complete health requirements and a criminal background check. Students must be 18 years of age to be eligible for licensure. This program is offered

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester. Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
