Mid-State Technical College
The Criminal Justice-Studies program prepares students to meet the challenges that come with a variety of positions in the criminal justice field. Graduates interested in pursuing a career as a law enforcement officer are prepared for entry into the 720-hour certification training required for law enforcement certifiable status by the Wisconsin Department of Justice. Graduates who do not seek sworn law enforcement positions may use their skills in civilian law enforcement positions, such as record and documentation maintenance, dispatch or communications center operations, or secure correctional facility operations. This program is designed to help secure employment, keep students abreast of rapidly changing advancements, and encourage further education. Mid-State aims to offer several approaches to tutoring to ensure that students have options that fit their learning needs including lab-based, one-one-one, group, and online. Tutoring services are no cost to currently enrolled students.

Refunds are issued per the official refund schedule available at any Student Services Information Center. Refund amounts are determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Refund Policy and federal financial aid regulations. Refunds will be issued to the student unless a documented third-party sponsorship or contract exists. In such cases the refund will be returned to the sponsor or contracting party.

PLEASE NOTE:

If there are fewer than eight enrollments in the training program, only the "Enrollments" number will be displayed; all other data is hidden in order to help protect the students' identities. The "Employment Outcomes" are calculated using information from Wisconsin's Unemployment Insurance Wage database. Most employers are required to report certain employment information to the State of Wisconsin, including quarterly wage information for their employees. Students whose information could not be verified in this database are excluded from these outcomes. If a "0" shows for any of these outcomes, it means that none of the students' information could be verified.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
