Administrative Services (AS):

Provides administrative support services to program divisions including:

• human resource,
• information technology,
• facilities management,
• purchasing,
• training,
• communications,
• fiscal operations,
• strategic planning and
• printing

Employment and Training (ET)

Administers Wisconsin's Job Centers' delivery of services providing resources for job seekers and employers. Delivers employment and training resources, and the collection and analysis of labor market information.

Provides services for job seekers (employed, unemployed or laid off):

• Employment opportunities
• Occupational information and labor statistics
• Career options
• Training information

Provides services for employers:

• Employers - so they have the workforce they need

Programs and Benefits:

• Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
• Veterans Employment and Training Programs
• Migrant and Refugee Services
• Labor Market Information

Equal Rights (ER):

• Administers laws prohibiting discrimination in:
  • employment
  • housing
  • public accommodations
  • the state's family and medical leave law
• Enforces laws pertaining to:
  • minimum wage
  • overtime pay
  • timely payment of wages
  • employment of minors
  • notification of business closings or mass layoffs
• Also sets and enforces prevailing wage rates that must be paid on state and municipal construction projects

Unemployment Insurance (UI):

• collects employer payroll taxes
• pays benefits to eligible unemployed workers
• adjudicates disputes
• detects fraud
• collects benefit overpayments
• administers the New Hire Reporting program

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR):

Provides services to assist individuals with disabilities obtain, maintain and improve employment.

Services include:

• Career Guidance and Counseling
• Job Search and Placement Assistance
• Information and Referral Services
• Transition to work services for students with disabilities in high school
• Supported Employment services for persons with severe disabilities; includes time-limited on-the job supports
• Rehabilitation Technology
• Vocational and other Training
• Disability and Employment Assessment
• Transportation
• Occupational licenses, tools and other equipment
• Assistance in small-business plan development
• Interpreter services
• Rehabilitation teaching services
• Diagnosis and treatment
• Post-employment services

Worker's Compensation (WC):

• Insures the prompt payment of benefits by private insurance companies and self-insured employers to workers to sustain work-related injuries or illnesses
• resolves appeals regarding worker's compensation claims
